My name is Michelle Allen. I am a Christian who owes everything to God!
I am a wife, mother of two sons, and grandmother of two grandsons.
We live in Missouri with our two doggos, Kirby (Shih-Tzu) and Loki (Shih-Poo), along with my son's Yorkie, Mya.
When I'm not in the studio you can find me at the games, either baseball, hockey, or cross country, there's never a lack of sports from my grandsons.
I am often asked where the name Raggedy Pants Designs came from. Well, I used to be a cloth doll pattern designer, making a lot of raggedy-type dolls, thus the name Raggedy Pants Designs.
As I changed my medium from cloth to clay, the name just stuck with me.
You can still find my doll patterns at
Around 2012, I started teaching myself how to sculpt art dolls and fairies. In 2014, I turned my main focus to the holidays. In 2016 I signed with Bethany Lowe Designs and I am now a licensed artist for her. (for more information on this you can visit the Bethany Lowe Repo link
I believe it's the joy and celebrations of each holiday that make life fun, so needless to say, it brings me great happiness to be a part of that!
I create each piece from air-dry clays. After days of drying, I paint them with acrylics and pastels, then I rub an antiquing medium over them to bring out their features. They are always sealed with a professional sealant, but should always be stored indoors to protect their finishes.
If you have followed me for very long you probably come to realize I love glitter!!! My snowmen are covered with a few layers of it, and I try to add touches to most of my pieces whenever I can.
You will also learn that I love creating for the Christmas/winter season, especially snowmen, first in cloth and now in clay…..OH, WHAT FUN!
I offer my handmade pieces here in my website shop, so be sure to follow me on social media or sign up for my newsletter to be notified when new art is available.
